A legislator at the House of Representatives Commission III on Law and Human Rights says that a revision on the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Law is currently being prepared.

Nasir Jamil from the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) told reporters at the House on Monday that the revision would stipulate KPK investigators to be independent individuals.

As of now, KPK investigators are from the police.

"The current stipulations pose a problem. If the investigators are suddenly recalled to their institution, then such a situation will surely disturb the KPK," Nasir said.

"The situation also reduces the authority and integrity of the KPK. Whenever there is a rumor about investigators being recalled, then the KPK leaders will have to visit the police as if they are begging," he added.
